1. La Lonja de Seda

Today whatever Valencia has earned or achieved is due to its massive silk exchange. The silk exchange in Valencia started in La Lonja de Seda, which can be translated as Valencia Silk Exchange. The silk they used to trade which actually produced in China, sent to Europe, and later transported to other countries. 

La Lonja de Seda is known for selling one of the finest quality silk which initially started in 1482 to 1492. Today the building of La Lonja de Seda is one top tourist attractions in Valencia and is admired due to its amazing architecture. 2. Mercado Central

Mercado Central is the popular open market in Valencia and is one of the largest in Europe. The market spans up to an area of 8,000 square meters and contains more than 1,200 stalls offering a variety of street food from all over Europe. Don’t forget to taste the famous Spanish cuisines.

3. Torres de Serranos

Today, the top of this tower is accessible to the visitor and offers amazing views of Valencia's old town as well as Jardin del Turia.

4. Catedral de Valencia

The Catedral de Valencia or Valencia Cathedral was originally a temple built by Roman Empire. It was first converted into a mosque and later converted into a church after a conquest in 1238. The exterior of this church has some elements of Romanesque architecture meanwhile the interior is combined with gothic design, Renaissance as well as Baroque artwork. 

It also has a museum named Museo Catedral de Valencia equipped with numerous religious artworks. 6. Bioparc Valencia

The Bioparc of Valencia accommodates over 150 wildlife species from Africa including Savannah Lions, Congolese Gorillas, Nile Hippos and Madagascan Lemurs. The good this about this zoo is that there are hardly any barriers for visitors. As a visitor, you will get to feel the true atmosphere of African forests.

The park lies in Cabecca Park and stretches up to an area of 100,000 m2 and is separated by four different areas named Savannah, Wetlands, Island of Madagascar, and Kitum cave. 7. Colon Market

The Colon market used to serve as one of the major commercial markets of the city but today it houses flower stalls and some restaurants. Today it is one of the most notable tourist attractions in Valencia and is designated as a National Monument. 8. Oceanografic

Europe’s largest aquarium, Oceanographic is yet another one of the top things to do in Valencia and is part of the Science and Art center i.e Ciutat de Les Arts y les Ciencies. The aquarium is home to the largest underwater tunnel in Europe offering views of whales and sharks through a glass. 

The museum also reproduces various habitats based on their actual temperatures such as the Mediterranean, Antarctic, and Arctic. 9. Plaza de Toros: Bullring

Today it is home to the Bullfighting ring and is also used for conducting various events and live concerts. The arena has a capacity to accommodate up to 16,851 spectators.

10. Plaza de la Virgen

After visiting the Valencia Cathedral, do pay a visit to the Plaza de la Virgen which is the major square of the city.
