Two pilots succumbed to their injuries when an Army Cheetah helicopter crashed in a forested area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Tuesday, September 21st.
“In Patnitop area, today amidst a training sortie, Indian Army’s Cheetah helicopter crashed in Shiv Garh Dhar area in Udhanpur district,” a defence spokesman informed.
The incident was reported between 10:30 am and 10:45 am, the chopper was from Army Aviation Corp, officials informed.
Both the pilots were high rank officers, a senior army officer informed. One official regrefully said, that they tried to save their lives but unfortunately both didn’t survive.
An Indian Army Aviation chopper Cheetah made a force landing due to technical snag near Patnitop of Jammu & Kashmir. Two pilots have been reported injured and rescued by the local civilians and rushed to the hospital. More details being ascertained.
