Izmir Archaeological Museum

The Izmir Archaelogical Museum was the first museum in Izmir that has an exhibition hall, warehouses, laboratories, a conference hall, and a room for photography. 

It is a three-story museum that contains a showroom on the first floor and second floor. On the other hand, the third floor is separated by grave culture. 

Talking about the first floor, it is completely dedicated to artworks from the Roman, Byzantine, Hellenistic, and periods.

Kadifekale Castle 

Situated at the top of Mount Pagos, the Kadifekale Castle is an ancient Greek castle that dates back to 3 century BC. 

The castle went through several restorations during the early year especially in 395 AD by the Byzantine empire. Other than Byzantine, the castle came under the rule of Seljuks, Arabs, Genoans, and Crusaders.

According to earlier historians, the site was chosen by Alexander to build a castle which made this place the top attraction in Izmir. 

Today, the castle offers the most breathtaking views of panoramic views of Izmir. The travelers can access the castle’s main gate, Roman cisterns, and the watchtower.
