Bollywood is quite flexible in serving their audiences, the movies which appeal to them. It is fully aware of people’s thoughts, beliefs, aspirations and emotions of every age group. And when we talk about the segment of age groups, youngsters form the most dominant segment. So, today we will talk about such Bollywood Youth Movies.

These movies are related to quite realistic subjects to which almost every young blood can relate. And Indian cinema industry not only makes youth movies now but since the 1970s it is fully active in this area too. Hence we get a good treat from these movies.

1. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

When we talk about Bollywood youth movies, this name comes first. Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is one of the biggest box office success, and this is a movie to which every youngster can relate. It deals with the story of four individuals and their seriousness towards their lives. 

Here Kabir (Ranbir Kapoor) who plays the lead, changes the definition of his career by adopting the path that can fulfill his dream of travelling the whole world. He negates the conventional monotonous life through his career choice. Though he becomes successful financially but still feels incomplete.

On the contrary, Naina (Deepika Padukone) is  very simple girl who becomes a doctor. Besides them, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin are in supporting roles. It’s a must-watch movie.

2. Yuva

As the name suggests Yuva is a Hindi synonym of Youth. This movie deals with the Political outlook of different youngsters. It is the story of three young men who are from totally different strata of society and upbringings. These are Michael (Ajay Devgan), Arjun (Vivek Oberoi) and Lallan (Abhishek Bachchan)

One incident on Kolkata’s Howrah Bridge changes their lives forever. Besides these actors, actresses are Esha Deol, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee.

3. Dil Chahta Hai

This movie is the best depiction of the carefree life of youngsters during their graduation days. Dil Chahta Hai tells the love stories of three youngsters who enter the real world after their graduation. It is regarded as the classic example of youth film. It is the best movie and directorial debut of Farhan Akhtar.

This movie is considered to bring major changes. And it created many trends like the craze for Goa trip among friends, attires and many people started to have distinctive philosophies. The songs and storyline were loved by the audience and critics alike. It starred Saif Ali Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Khanna as the lead actors.

 4. Rang De Basanti

This movie is a perfect motivation for all those who want to bring revolution in society. Rang De Basanti portrays the real courage and determination of youth. People were impressed by the marvelous acting of all the characters. It gives you the message to come out of your comfort zones in order to bring change and fight for unjust happening in society.

It is the story of the college kids who were quite disturbed by the ignorance of the government. And the thing that disturbed them more was one of their pilot friend who sacrificed his life for the nation but the government refused to honour him. Meanwhile, this movie starred Aamir Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Siddharth, R. Madhvan and Soha Ali Khan.

 5. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is based on the common youngster perspective that “we have got only one life and we should enjoy it fully”. It is depicted by a road trip to Spain by three friends. These friends are dealing with their own complexes and problems which every youngster might relate to.

This movie has Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif, Kalki Koechlin and Spanish Actress Ariadna Cabrol.

 6. Kala Patthar

It is one of the outstandingly acclaimed movies of the 1970s. Kala Pathar dealt with the lives of people who worked in coal mines at that time. This movie portrays the pains and sufferings faced by the youngsters who work in the coalfields.

The impressive role done by Amitabh Bachchan as 'Vijay' appeals to the young generation. He is depicted as merchant navy captain who was degraded and humiliated by society and his family for abandoning his ship and risking the lives of 300 people. Then his guilt impels him to work in coal fields to repent for his past and his cowardice.

Amitabh depicts the realistic example of how sometimes just one wrong decision can fill your life with so much guilt and troubles and can make you even forget your dreams. This movie starred many legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Babi and Neetu Kapoor.

 7. Life in a Metro

Metro is a movie that recounts the story of some young people who live in Mumbai and are quite frustrated with their lives. Everyone is dealing with their problems and storms. There is even a story of an old couple who met after a long time in Mumbai and recollect their memories of younger times.

This movie dealt with subjects like extramarital affair, love, the entanglement of difficulties, etc. It starred Kangana Ranaut, Shilpa Shetty, Sharman Joshi, KK Menon, Konkona Sen, Irrfan Khan, Dharmendra, Shiney Ahuja.

 8. Wake Up Sid

Wake Up Sid is about a rich stud, Sid (Ranbir Kapoor) whose father expels him from his house,  as he fails in  his graduation and doesn’t take anything seriously. But now he gets to know the real troubles and tries to discover himself. He learns to organize everything with the help of Aisha (Konkana Sen) who is a mature, independent and career-oriented girl.
