Birthday Special: 5 Best Performances Of Ranbir Kapoor

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor turns 38 today and we know all the Ranbir Kapoor fans are excited about his birthday more than he is. To celebrate that excitement, we bring you the best performances of our Rockstar. Ranbir set foot in the industry 13 years ago when he debuted with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Saawariya alongside Sonam Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in 2007. Yet in that short period, Ranbir Kapoor has left no stone unturned to show his charismatic talent of acting. Let’s check out some of his best work to date.

It’s no secret that Rockstar has been one of the best performances by Ranbir Kapoor as he played the role of Janardan “Jordan” Jakhar, directed by Imtiaz Ali, alongside Nargis Fakhri as “Heer”.

The character he plays is a Delhi boy with big dreams and a whole lot of talent, but the path he chooses is not so great. The movie is about a relationship between Rockstar Jordan, his love Heer, and how it ends in tragedy.

Another Imtiaz Ali directed movie, Tamasha is just what it is named, this movie showed Ranbir Kapoor as Ved in a whole lot of ranges. A man, struggling with his job, feelings, life, under societal pressure, wanting to follow his passion of storytelling. Also featuring Deepika Padukone as Tara, this movie is sure a journey. A journey of passion, heartbreak and love, the movie ends on a good note, so the fans don’t have to worry.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

We all loved Kabir in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, we wanted to live his life and also wanted to be Naina. Kabir was played by none other than Ranbir Kapoor and Naina by Deepika Padukone, both of them sure do have infectious chemistry on screen. Kabir was the smart and sexy guy, every girl dreams of, who has his dreams set and always aiming high.

It’s a story of love and dreams and how sometimes the dreams you’ve been chasing have been alongside you always. The movie doesn’t romanticize Kabir’s life but gives value to love, friendship and memories. It sure is a fun watch with friends and family.

Barfi is perhaps the warmest and comforting film to watch. Directed by Anurag Basu, this movie is a story of a deaf and mute man, who fails at love but wins life due to his infectious, fun and charming personality. This movie also stars Priyanka Chopra as an autistic girl and Ileana D’ Cruz as the woman Barfi falls in love with.

The genuine performance and warmth Ranbir gave in his movie are highly commendable and it just is the perfect watch for a Saturday night with popcorns and maybe Barfi for the joke.

Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani

In an interview of Ranbir with AIB, he said, Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani was one of his best movies and it made him an overnight star. Although the movie failed on the critic front, the movie was a blockbuster at the box office. Ranbir plays the role of Prem who is a lovesick boy but out of luck in love.

The girl he likes, Jenny played by Katrina Kaif, keeps rejecting him or more of a Gen Z Language, “Friend-zoning” him. But he doesn’t give up and it all comes together in the end. This movie is a perfect watch for a fun movie night.

Ranbir’s next release is Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra alongside Alia Bhatt, this movie is his up game as he will be exploring the genre he hasn’t tried before; fantasy. And we know he never lets his fans down.
