Income Tax Officials Now Raided On Sonu Sood's Residence After His Offices in Mumbai

The Income Tax department continued searching different premises belonging to Sonu Sood on Day 3 of the raid. Income Tax officers spent hours searching six locations that were linked to the actor. According to the sources, the IT Department was investigating a said property deal between Sonu Sood and a lucknow-based real estate company.

The sources claimed that a recent deal made between a lucknow-based real estate company and Sonu Sood’s company is being scanned. An investigation has been initiated on the tax aversion allegations about the deal.

Opposition leaders called it a man-hunt against the actor, who has been a blessing and named “messiah of migrants" for his philanthropic act during the pandemic lockdown last year.

Sonu Sood helped in arranging flights, buses, trains to help hundreds of migrant workers reach home. He even stepped in when India hit second wave, helping people with oxygen and beds.

The raids were initiated several days after his high profile meeting with Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister who declared the 48-year-old actor as the ambassador of his school government programme “Desh ka Mentor”.

Though he always denied his connection with charity and politics, His meeting with Mr. Kejriwal brought in the rumours of his political debut with AAP (Aam Aadmi Party)in next year’s Punjab election.

"As of now we have not discussed any politics," Sonu Sood told reporters, during a press conference with Arvind Kejriwal.

 Mr Kejriwal tweeted that there were millions of obstacles on the path of truth, but truth always wins.
