Elon Musk always remains in a limelight for his weird stuff, whether his controversial Twitter deal or naming a baby, he always comes up with quirky ways to amaze people.
This time Elon twitted about the Ukraine – Russia Peace poll on Twitter.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk proposed a poll and asked people’s opinion that the UN- supervised the elections in four occupied regions that Moscow last week annexed in a move called ‘referendums’.
This tweet faced backlash by Ukrainian president Zelensky.
Billionaire Elon Musk on Monday asked Twitter users opinions to end the Russian annexation of Ukraine's four regions, UN-supervised the election, and people of the region voted for it whether they wanted to be a part of Russia or Ukraine.
He said that Russia leaves if that is the will of the people.
Ukraine-Russia Peace:
- Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.
- Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).
- Water supply to Crimea assured.
- Ukraine remains neutral.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 3, 2022
He asked Twitter users to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on the plan.
He also asked users about whether Crimea which was annexed into Russia in 2014 and Donbas wanted to be a part of Russia or Ukraine
Let’s try this then: the will of the people who live in the Donbas & Crimea should decide whether they’re part of Russia or Ukraine

In return, Ukrainian President Zelensky responded with his own poll and tweeted “ Which Elon Musk do you like more? One who supports Ukraine, and one who supports Russia.
Musk further reply to Zelensky –
I still very much support Ukraine, but am convinced that massive escalation of the war will cause great harm to Ukraine and possibly the world.

He also tweeted about worse condition Ukraine will face due to war
Russia is doing partial mobilization. They go to full war mobilization if Crimea is at risk. Death on both sides will be devastating.

Russia has >3 times population of Ukraine, so victory for Ukraine is unlikely in total war. If you care about the people of Ukraine, seek peace.
Musk also received backlash from other diplomats.
Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nauseda criticise Musk Twitter and said – “Dear @elonmusk, when someone tries to steal the wheels of your Tesla, it doesn't make them the legal owner of the car or of the wheels. Even though they claim both voted in favor of it. Just saying.”
Ukraine’s outspoken ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk gave a harsh reaction to Musk's “Peace Plan”. He responded –“ F--- off is my very diplomatic reply to you.”
Elon StarLink Space X’s service provided internet to Ukraine in February.
Ukraine’s internet service was disrupted due to Russian invasions. Then Ukrainian govt. official seek help via Twitter and asked for internet service in Ukraine.
Musk then responded and helped the Ukrainian through his Space X’s Starlink satellite broadband service, which was providing internet service to Ukraine.
Elon also said that Space X was sending more terminals to the country.
