However, the real hero in the story, Mahavir Singh Phogat, was paid around 80 Lakhs to allow making a biopic on him. The film featured Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat and Fatima Sana Sheikh, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar, Sanya Malhotra, Sakshi Tanwar, and Aparshakti Khurana.
4. MS Dhoni | MS Dhoni: The Untold Story
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story was definitely one of the most successful biopics made in Bollywood. Under the direction of Neeraj Pandey, this movie takes the viewers across former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni's journey from his childhood, his love for cricket, his career, and his personal life. Sushant Singh Rajput was featured as MS Dhoni in the film along with Disha Patani and Kiara Advani. According to reports from 2016, Dhoni charged a whopping amount of ₹45 crores for sharing his personal details that are shown in the biopic. However, later there were statements that claimed it to be a rumor.
5. Laxmi Agarwal | Chhapaak
According to several reports, Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor was given ₹13 lakh for the movie Chhapaak which was based on her life. The biopic was directed by Meghna Gulzar and featured Deepika Padukone as Malti, who survived an acid attack and fought legal battles to bring in regulations regarding acid sales in India.
6. Sanjay Dutt | Sanju
