June 2021: New OTT Releases For An Entertaining Stay At Home 

OTT platforms have become the biggest source of entertainment, especially during the lockdown. While May was full of blockbusters, the month of June has something in store for every kind of binge-watcher. Here are some new OTT releases that are a must-watch.

The month will bring some cult classics, suspense thrillers, and the most-awaited Hollywood web series. From Marvel’s Loki to Family Man 2, let us have a look at the top 10 OTT releases in June.

  • Loki

Streaming On: 9 June at Disney Plus Hotstar

The first Web Series on our list is Loki from Marvel Studios and it is probably the biggest release of the month. It features the God of Mischief who steps out of his brother’s shadow.

The series is about an alternate timeline that comes into existence when Loki disappears with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame.

It is a mini web series that consists of six episodes only. All the new episodes will stream on Wednesday from June 9 on Disney Plus Hotstar.

  • The Family Man 2

Streaming On: June 4 at Amazon Prime Video

The much-awaited second season of the Amazon Prime series The Family Man will stream from June 4. Manoj Bajpayee will be again portraying spy Srikant Tiwari, who will be fighting with a new enemy.

Resembling season one, this time too Srikant will be seen juggling his personal life, just like any other family man and a spy serving his country.

  • Sherni

Streaming On: 18th June at Amazon Prime Video

Directed by Amit Masurkar, Sherni features actress Vidya Balan playing the role of a forest officer. The movie introduces a very new and thoughtful concept in which Vidya tries to create a balance between man and animal conflict.

The movie is jointly produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment. Notably, it is one of the most unconventional and engaging films for Bhushan Kumar, chairman of T-Series.

  • Skater Girl

Streaming On: June 11 on Netflix

Skater Girl is India’s first movie featuring skateboarding. It depicts the story of a teen named Prerna, who resides in the small village of Rajasthan.

Her Indian orthodox family, expects her to be bound by traditions and responsibility towards her parents. Though she develops a passion for skateboarding and portrays how an ordinary simple girl qualifies for a national skateboarding championship.

The movie shows her journey of fighting all the odds to follow her dreams.

  • Sunflower

Streaming on: June 11 on Zee 5

Sunflower is an intriguing thriller with some comedy elements in it. The story follows the murder of a person in house no. 1001 of the Sunflower Society.

While Ranvir Shorey plays the role of  Inspector Digendra, Sonu Singh (Sunil Grover) is one of the prime suspects of the murder. 

  • Ray

Streaming On: June 25 on Netflix

The anthology series is derived from Satyajit Ray’s short stories.

Starring Manoj Bajpayee, Ali Fazal, Gajraj Rao, Shweta Basu Prasad, Kay Kay Menon, Anindita Bose, Radhika Madan, Bidita Bag, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Harshvarrdhan Kapoor, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, and Chandan Roy Sanyal, the anthology consists of four stories.

All these four stories are based on different themes- love, lust, betrayal, and truth. According to the official statements, the series will deal with the vulnerabilities and multiple shades of each character.

  • Lupin Season 2

Streaming On: June 11 at Netflix

Netflix’s original French hit series Lupin is back with the remaining episodes. The suspense thriller had a mysterious ending to the first season. Everyone has been waiting to see what ensues in the upcoming season.

It is one of the most-watched non-English Netflix series.

  • Indori Ishq

Streaming On: 10 June on MX Player

Starring Ritvik Sahore and Vedika Bhandari, Indori Ishq is a nine part series. It shows the roller coaster ride of young love. The movies about the school crush, first love, relationship, and betrayal. It portrays how a boy’s life is nothing less than a fairy tale but changes overnight after his girlfriend cheats on him.

  • Rang De

Streaming On: June 12 on Zee 5

This movie is a delightful romantic drama. Featuring Nithiin and Keerthy Suresh, the movie provides a feeling of comfort and happiness. Directed by Venky Atluri, the romantic movie follows the story of Arjun (Nithiin) and his childhood friend Anu (Keerthy Suresh).

  • The Dead Don’t Die

Streaming On: 4 June 2021 on Netflix

Featuring Adam Driver, Dead Don’t Die is a horror comedy. The movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival as well. It is a 1 hour 45-minute long movie starring Selena Gomez, Bill Murray, and Tilda Swinton in the lead role.
