1. Prabhas has a wax statue at Madame Tussauds
Prabhas is the first and only South Indian actor to have a statue at Madame Tussauds in Bangkok. The Telugu actor has beaten the likes of Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth to have his wax statue. His statue is his character as Amrendra Baahubali, with armour on. Prabhas will soon be having his statue at Madame Tussauds in London.
2. It took him years to prepare for Baahubali
Reportedly Prabhas spent about 4.5 years preparing for his role in the movie Baahubali. He spent working out for hours every day along with his trainer and focused on building lean muscle. He mixed his exercise regime with other activities including playing volleyball, learning archery and practising yoga. He even went to the U.S. to study the training regimen of WWE wrestlers.
3. Prabhas had to gain weight for his role
The 6’2 tall actor gained around 20 kg of weight to acquire his physique in Baahubali. It’s not fun and games, gaining that weight. His diet included 40 egg whites, fish, vegetables and almonds. 2000-4000 calories a day was his regular intake for the shoot of the film.
4. He is fond of outdoor sports
Prabhas is adventurous and a nature enthusiast. He loves being surrounded by greenery. He has his own space in the home designed for his workouts in the garden, including a volleyball court. He also loves outdoor fitness activities like cycling, running and often plays volleyball in his free time.
5. Baahubali wasn’t his Debut in Bollywood
Many people hadn’t seen Prabhas in movies before Baahubali. But he made his first appearance in a Hindi movie years ago. Prabhas played a cameo in Action Jackson, a 2014 film, featuring Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha. The Tollywood star also shook a leg with Sonakshi in the song, Punjabi Mast.
6. Being an actor was not his ultimate dream
Suryanarayana Raju, Prabhas’s father is a film producer and his uncle is famous Telugu actor Krishnam Raju. But despite his Tollywood lineage and awareness of the industry, Prabhas’s initial plan was to become a hotelier. The reason was his love for butter chicken, he wanted to binge on it! He suddenly decided to change paths and became an actor after his graduation and made his debut with Eeshwar (2002).
