What happened actually was when Senior Congress Leader Salman Khurshid tweeted two photos of Rahul Gandhi and his father, the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary. Khurshid described them as once and future king of democracy.

At that time, unexpectedly a Twitter user tagged Mr. Rushdie in her response mistakenly. While gaining a lot of attention, this eminent author re-tweeted and told the user that she didn’t identify him correctly. He created an amusing scenario and gave a witty and sarcastic reply, I’m Salman Khan”.

The tweets accumulated much debate among supporters and critics. Though many people paid tribute to the former PM, some were disappointed with Khurshid’ tweet. One of the Twitter users, Kaju Satya  (@dOfficialITgirl) replied to the tweet by saying: “Expect a chamcha like @SalmanRushdie to use the word ‘King’ to define ‘democracy'”. Only instead of tagging Khurshid, the Twitter user erroneously tagged the Midnight’s Children author.

Meanwhile it was really nice on the part of the author that instead of being offended and showing condemnation he retaliated in a smart way. And went on to tag Bollywood star Salman Khan while responding to the said tweet.

People really liked his sense of humour and were impressed by his response. Mr. Rushdie’s reply created a flow of jokes. Just check it out by following tweets.
