IPL New Teams Auction: The bidding process for 2 new Indian Premier League franchises started on Monday in Dubai. Ten parties submitted their bid in a race to own one of the teams based in Indore, Guwahati, Dharamsala, Cuttack, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad.
Various high-profile bidders participated in the IPL team auction.
The major bidders include the

- Hindustan Media Ventures Pvt Ltd
- Irelia Company Pvt Limited
- Torrent Pharmaceuticals
- Goenka Group
- Capri Global
- Amrit Lila Enterprises Pvt. Ltd
- Lancer Capital-Avram Glazer
- Avashya Corporation Pvt. Ltd.
Rhiti Sports Management, the agency that presented former India Captain, Mahindra Singh Dhoni has also bid for the two new IPL teams.
As per reports, all the bidders were asked to submit 2 envelopes- financial credentials and personal for the bid. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has said its audit and legal officials would go through the credentials carefully. After that, the second envelope that contains bidding details will be opened.
BCCI had extended its “Invitation to Tender” till October 20th so that Premier League Club Manchester United takes its part in the bidding process.

List of New Bidders and Their Amount for Two New IPL Teams
RP-Sanjiv ventures ltd placed the highest bid with an amount of INR 7090 crores for Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Irelia Company Pvt Limited bid an amount of INR 5625 crores for Ahmedabad and INR 5166 for Lucknow.
Two frontrunners, Glazers family, and Adani Group who owned giant Manchester United placed a bid of INR 5100 crores & INR 4000 crores respectively.

After intense hours of bidding in Dubai, finally, the two new teams for IPL 2022 will be from Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
Lucknow Team Details
This team will be under Sanjiv Goenka, RPSG Group Chairman. Goenka group previously owned Rising Pune Supergiant when Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings were suspended.
Ahmedabad Team Details
The CVC Capital or Irelia is a business conglomerate that runs offices across Europe, South, North America, and Asia. Irelia recently acquired a share in La Liga, a Spanish football league.
World’s largest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium will be the home of Ahmedabad. The stadium can accommodate 132000 spectators.
