Mirchi Baba Rape Case: On Monday, Police arrested Vairagyananda Giri on the charges of a 28-year-old woman in Bhopal. A recent update from the media revealed that the accused was living in Minal Residency of Bhopal in a rented bungalow.
People of the locality told that the Mirchi baba aka Vairagyananda also tried trapping them several times.
As per Dainik Bhaskar's report, a woman living next to the accused’s house said
“Women used to come to his duplex. High-profile people also used to come. Cars were parked. After the arrival of the woman, it was locked from the inside. Baba also called me twice through his maid. Spoke to me to find a maid. I used to watch his antics. So I blocked his number but nobody complained against him because of Baba's influence.”
Vairagyananda Giri was arrested from a hotel in Gwalior on Monday night and handed over to Bhopal Police as per the reports. The action was taken in response to a complaint made by a woman from Raisen.
He raped her by giving her drugs in name of solving her fertility issues. The case is of July month and when that woman opposed Mirchi baba, he said kids are born like this.
The accused was also having political connections. Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh- Digvijay Singh and Kamalnath- was close to Mirchi baba.
He also prayed for the victory of Digvijay Singh during the 2019 Lokshaba elections. At that time, he said if Digvijay loses the election he will take the water mausoleum (Jal Samadhi).
However, he did not get permission from the district collector for it. Mirchi baba was also given the status of State Minister under the reign of the Kamalnath Government.
Besides this, the accused had always made headlines for giving controversial statements against the opposition.
He once said that when the price of a gas cylinder in India was Rs 400 then Union Minister Smriti Irani was dancing on the streets.
Not only this, he made derogatory remarks against her daughter. On the controversial poster of Maa Kaali, Mirchi baba said he will give a bounty of Rs 20 Lakhs to anyone who will behead the director and producer of that film.
Now, he is under the custody of the police and is in central jail. Police have confiscated his mobile phone for investigation.
