The State Bank of India has recently increased the IMPS transactions limit to ₹ 5 lakhs which previously was ₹ 2 lakhs. The Bank is aiming to encourage the customer to switch towards digital banking. The Bank won't impose any service charges up to 5 lakhs of IMPS transactions done via online banking, mobile banking.
On the other, no changes have been made on transactions that occurred through any of the SBI branches. Though, a new slab has been added by the bank for transactions between 2 lakhs to 5 lakhs. The services charges will be 20 + GST from February 1, 2022.
