New Delhi: The former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey stepped down on Monday. His position is now handed over to an Indian-American talent named ‘Parag Agrawal’. Parag is an alumnus of IIT Bombay and officially the new CEO of the microblogging platform, Twitter. It’s interesting to know that several leading technology companies in the USA are being run by Indian-origin editions. Now Parag Agrawal is added to the list.

Parag Agrawal is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay who graduated in 2005. Parag Agrawal completed his Ph.D. from Stanford University in Computer Science. During his study, he worked as a research intern in AT&T Labs, Microsoft, and Yahoo! He joined Twitter as a Distinguished Software Engineer in October 2011.
He was selected as Twitter’s CTO (Chief Technology Officer) in 2018. Being a CTO, his responsibility was to handle the company’s technical strategy while overseeing AI and machine learning.
Since the joining of 10 years, he put efforts in scaling Twitter Ads systems and re-accelerating user growth by enhancing home timeline relevance.

After the Twitter board selected Parag Agrawal as new CEO, Jack Dorsey left this statement,
“I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders. My trust in Parag as Twitter’s CEO is deep. His work over the past 10 years has been transformational. I’m deeply grateful for his skill, heart, and soul. It’s his time to lead”
