Why Arshad Nadeem Took Away Neeraj Chopra's Javelin During The Olympics Finals Just Before His Throw?

Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has become a star after his sensational win at Tokyo Olympics. But right before his winning shot, something unusual happened with him. India’s first track-and-field Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chpra couldn’t find his javelin just before the final event because Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem has walked away with it.

In an interview to TOI, Neeraj shared that at the start of the final, he was searching for his javelin. He said, “I was not able to find it. Suddenly I saw Arshad Nadeem was moving around with my javelin. Then I told him, ‘Bhai give this javelin to me, it is my javelin! I have to throw with it’. Then he gave it back to me.”

Chopra further added, “That’s why you must have seen I took my first throw hurriedly.” Speaking about Arshad Nadeem, Neeraj said, “I think it is good for Pakistan, they have a chance to show more interest in javelin and do well at the international stage in the future.”
